To set the timing for each frame of your animation, click on the “Filters” menu in the top menu bar and select “Animation” > “Optimize (for GIF)”. The top layer will be the first frame of the animation, and the bottom layer will be the last. ![]() To do this, click and drag the layers in the Layers panel on the right side of the screen. Once you have imported your images, you will need to arrange them in the order you want them to appear in the animation. To import images, click on “File” in the top menu bar and select “Open as Layers.” Then select the images you want to import and click “Open.” This will import each image as a separate layer in your GIMP project. You can either import several individual images or import a video and extract frames from it. To create an animated GIF, you will need to import multiple images that will make up the frames of the animation. The resolution should be 72 pixels per inch (ppi) which is standard for web graphics.
